Community Building

Growing Unity, Capacity and Social Change

The Bahá’í Faith consists of groups of people, spread all over the world, living the best life they can, and working to make the world a better place. Our approach to social change is inspired by the Bahá’í teachings and principals, based on building communities through enhancing and strengthening people’s spiritual and material capacities.

Bahá’ís believe that God has sent Messengers throughout all the ages to help and guide humanity to learn and grow as the essence of His love to mankind. Bahá’í teachings teaches that:

“The Prophets and Messengers of God have been sent down for the Sole Purpose of guiding mankind to the Straight Path of Truth. The purpose underlying their revelation hath been to educate all men that they may, at the hour of death, ascend, in the utmost purity and sanctity and with absolute detachment, to the throne of the Most High.” ~ Bahá’u’lláh

In Vanuatu and across the world, Bahá’ís contribute to the capacity building of the communities through activities known as "core activities" – which constitutes a series of systematic programs carried out at the local level to promote spiritual and social transformation. Those core activities include study circles, classes for spiritual education of children, junior youth spiritual empowerment program and devotional gatherings.
